"Over-Indebtedness associated to obesity"

According to a recent study, over-indebted Germans are more likely to be overweight or obese than the population in general. But most particularly to the psychological and social stress experienced by over-indebted individuals.

Data were collected for a total of more than 9000 persons. Of the 949 over-indebted persons who completed the questionnaire sent out by the researchers, 25% were obese. By way of comparison, only 11% of the remaining 8318 subjects were obese.

This corresponds to an over-indebtedness rate of about 10% in the sample collected by the researchers.

The survey indicates therefore there is an increased probability that a private individual who is over-indebted will be overweight, that is, clinically obese.
